Chinese as Second Language Beginner Level $780

This course aims to bridge the gap in verbal comprehension of Chinese between students from non-Chinese-speaking families and heritage families. The ultimate goal is to prepare students for transition in three years from CSL courses to heritage language courses (Shuangshuang Chinese).

The CSL Beginner Level class fits students with no Chinese language background. In this class, teachers will focus on developing skills in listening, understanding, and participating in simple daily greetings and conversations. In addition, Pinyin (phonetic writing) will be introduced and utilized as a tool in practicing pronunciation and for future study.


Chinese as Second Language Intermediate Level $780
The objective of our CSL courses is to help students from non-Mandarin-speaking families develop basic communication skills in Mandarin Chinese and to foster interest in learning Chinese language and culture through thorough lesson planning, rich content, and fun activities. This course aims to bridge the gap in verbal comprehension of Chinese between students from non-Chinese-speaking families and heritage families. The ultimate goal is to prepare students for transition in three years from CSL courses to heritage language courses (Shuangshuang Chinese).

CSL Intermediate Level is designed for students who have completed the Beginner CSL course or possess equivalent skills. In this class, students will continue to develop their basic verbal Mandarin communication skills with an added emphasis on Pinyin. Upon completion, students will transition into the Shuangshuang Chinese series, moving at half the pace of the regular heritage track to ensure a smooth and confident transition.


Chinese as Second Language Advanced-A Level $780
The objective of our CSL courses is to help students from non-Mandarin-speaking families develop basic communication skills in Mandarin Chinese and to foster interest in learning Chinese language and culture through thorough lesson planning, rich content, and fun activities. This course aims to bridge the gap in verbal comprehension of Chinese between students from non-Chinese-speaking families and heritage families. The ultimate goal is to prepare students for transition in three years from CSL courses to heritage language courses (Shuangshuang Chinese).

CSL Advanced-A Level is for students who have completed the Intermediate Level CSL course or those who have built up basic communication skills through other programs. Students in the Advanced-A (or CSL 3A) class will complete the first half of the Shuangshuang Level 1 textbook over the course of a year, be able to read and write about 50-60 Chinese characters, and continue to practice verbal communication skills.

After completing CSL Advanced-A level class, students will take the CSL Advanced-B level class to complete the second half of the Shuangshuang level 1.


Chinese as Second Language Advanced-B Level $780
The objective of our CSL courses is to help students from non-Mandarin-speaking families develop basic communication skills in Mandarin Chinese and to foster interest in learning Chinese language and culture through thorough lesson planning, rich content, and fun activities. This course aims to bridge the gap in verbal comprehension of Chinese between students from non-Chinese-speaking families and heritage families. The ultimate goal is to prepare students for transition in three years from CSL courses to heritage language courses (Shuangshuang Chinese).

CSL Advanced-B Level (CSL 3B) is for students who have completed the Advanced-A Level CSL course. Students in this class will complete the second half of the Shuangshuang Level 1 textbook, be able to read and write an additional 50-60 Chinese characters, and continue to practice verbal communication skills.

After completing CSL Advanced level class, students will join a Shuangshuang level 1 or level 2 class and continue to move up in Shuangshuang textbook courses.
